Saurabh Pathak Joins Blockstack PBC as Financial Controller

We’re excited to announce that Saurabh Pathak has joined us from BlackRock as our Financial Controller. Saurabh was at BlackRock for 10 years. Most recently, he was Controller for the Americas region, overseeing $4 trillion of assets under management. He was also CFO of BlackRock Canada and CFO for BlackRock’s two broker-dealers.

At Blockstack PBC, we’re building a trusted brand for decentralized computing that not only involves engineering excellence but also careful attention to compliance and regulations. Saurabh will lead our financial controls and take ownership of accounting, financials, and reporting for Blockstack PBC and all of its subsidiaries. He will work closely with the executive team in overseeing the Blockstack PBC treasury, reporting financials to 800+ investors, and implementing quality standards for financial procedures, record keeping, and control.

In addition to BlackRock, Saurabh has experience working at Ernst & Young and Deloitte. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Public Accountant, and a Series 27 license holder. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mumbai University.

When I first met Saurabh, we talked about how much he enjoys the HBO show Silicon Valley. He was later surprised to find out that I’m a technical advisor on Season 5 of the show in which Pied Piper tries to build a decentralized internet. I’m excited to welcome Saurabh to a real-life version of the show, where we’re building a leading decentralized app platform.

Welcome to the team, Saurabh!
