Stacks Wallet v3.0.0: Send and Receive Stacks Securely

The new Stacks Wallet (v3.0.0) is now available. If you are using the previous version, it’s time to upgrade! This version provides a few key upgrades to the initial build we released in December 2018 and lays a strong open-source foundation for the community to build wallets of their own.

Send and Receive

In earlier versions of the wallet, you may not have been able to move STX tokens to and from various wallets – in the latest version you have complete freedom to move your balances (assuming your tokens are not locked up) across wallets you own or to others. Additionally, a hardware device is no longer required, making sending and receiving more convenient.

Security Improvements

Security considerations were Blockstack’s top-of-mind with this wallet which underwent a successful security audit performed by Least Authority and full review by Blockstack’s QA team. Private keys are not stored on the wallet. The option to connect to a hardware wallet offers added security and it already works with the Trezor One, Trezor Model T, Ledger Nano S, and the Ledger Blue.

Try it out

Wallet downloads are provided for both macOS and Windows and the documentation has been updated from top to bottom. If you have questions or experience any issues, please contact [email protected], post in the Blockstack Forum, or on Github. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to you using the Stacks Wallet!
